General dentistry is the everyday care that keeps your teeth and gums healthy: check-ups, professional cleaning, fillings, extractions, and quick treatment when something hurts. It is where most dental problems are caught early — a small cavity found at a check-up needs a simple filling, while the same cavity left for a year can need a root canal.
At Tooth Talez, general dental care is handled by two MDS specialists rather than a general practitioner alone. Dr. Sudhanshu Bhatnagar (MDS Pedodontics) looks after children and teenagers, and Dr. Gauri Bhatnagar (MDS Periodontics & Implantology) brings a gum specialist's eye to every cleaning and check-up. Both treat adults for routine care, so the whole family can be seen at one clinic, opposite Chitrakoot Stadium in Vaishali Nagar.
When Should You See a Dentist?
Most dental problems are painless at first. See us if you notice any of these.
Toothache or swelling
Pain that wakes you at night, throbbing, or swelling in the gum or face usually means an infection has reached the nerve. Painkillers only hide it for a while. We find the cause with an X-ray and treat it, often the same day.
Sensitivity to cold or sweets
A sharp twinge with cold water, ice cream or sweets can mean early decay, worn enamel or gums pulling back. Caught early, it's usually fixed with a simple filling or desensitising treatment rather than a root canal.

What does a general dentist do?
A general dentist provides everyday dental care: check-ups, professional cleaning, fillings, extractions, dentures and treatment for toothache. At Tooth Talez, this care is given by two MDS specialists, who also refer within the clinic for root canals, gum treatment and implants.
Does professional teeth cleaning damage enamel?
No. Scaling removes hardened tartar from the tooth surface; it does not remove enamel. Some people feel mild sensitivity for a day or two afterwards, which settles on its own.
Is tooth extraction painful?
The area is numbed with local anaesthesia, so you feel pressure but not pain during the extraction. Mild soreness for a few days afterwards is normal and is managed with simple painkillers and the aftercare instructions we give you.
What counts as a dental emergency?

Which is better: a tooth-coloured filling or a silver filling?
